Discovering Ways How To Reduce Your Energy Bills This Winter By Draught Proofing Your Home

By Jason Manning

It will make a lot of sense to find out how to reduce your energy bills this winter by draught proofing your home. The coming seasons may be like nothing we have ever experienced and we do not want to lose valuable energy through the inefficiency of our buildings.

You may have notice that recent winters have been colder than for many years prior. Now you may also think that this is very strange since the planet is supposed to be in the grip of global warming. However, if global warming is true, it is no wonder people question how comes they had so much snow and ice to clear from their driveways the last few years. Even governments have been scratching their heads in surprise.

Well it seems that some people are not surprised at all and that there are models in which cooling temperatures are consistent with theories of global warming. If you have seen the movie the day after tomorrow, you may know something about the theories of ice caps melting and excess water leaking into the oceans thus creating a reduction in salinity. According to the theory, if this happens the gulf stream can no longer warm up the northern hemisphere and we could all be in for a very rude awakening. Things could suddenly freeze over very quickly.

Even if the scenario in that movie is merely a far fetched hypothesis, it is not the only one that exists to suggest we could be in for some extreme cooling in the near future. Another theory suggests that the world has never really come out of the ice age. All we have experience of the last few centuries is merely a temporary reprieve from the ice.

And for those who still do not accept cooling theories, then there are enough other possible scenarios that could send a shiver up their spines. For example, they need to consider what might happen if the world slipped into political turmoil and everyone started to annoy everyone else. The oil producing countries might decide they are not letting us have any of their supplies and we could find ourselves in a fix.

If it suddenly got colder or there was global warfare, this would have a dramatic effect on the supply and cost of fuel. And the problems do not have to stem from outside for this to be the case. Not many of us consider what might happen if the economy does not recover as we hope for quite a while to come. If there is increasing unemployment people will have less to spend on energy costs or any other costs for that matter.

There has never been a better time to discern how to reduce your energy bills this winter by draught proofing your home. Demand for fuel may be so high in the coming years, we may all need to economize with it as much as possible.
